Katya Somisen

A painter whose figurative work tells the story of humanity through the lens of emotion, color, and form. In her paintings, she deconstructs the human figure in a minimalist way, revealing inner tensions and subtle psychological nuances. Her works resemble silent symphonies - filled with both strength and fragility - where every brushstroke carries emotional truth.

She is formally trained as a photographer with roots in music as a pianist, composer, songwriter and vocalist. She has released two albums. This multidimensional background shapes her artistic sensitivity and her unique approach to painting as a medium of emotional storytelling.

Her works have been exhibited in Amsterdam and Paris (The Holy Art Gallery, 2024), Warsaw/France (R2oT Gallery, Jaskółka Studio, 2025), as well as during numerous art fairs such as Art Show (Kamienica Karskich, HOP) and Targowisko Sztuki (Butelkownia). Her art has been recognized by prestigious media including VOGUE, LABEL Magazine, Elle Decoration, Weranda, and whiteMAD, which have praised the emotional depth and distinctive style of her painting.

In 2025, she became a finalist of the Singulart Prize in the Artist of the Year category.
For the artist however, the most important moment remains when a viewer - standing before a painting - feels, even if only for a moment, truly seen, recognized… or perhaps even saved.
